Hey Reader, Last week you showed your build to one person and asked what was confusing. This week, something about your project has to change because of what they said. That's the whole test for this week. Not whether you agreed with the feedback. Not whether it was flattering, but whether you actually did something with it. If they pointed out something specific, a broken step, a missing piece, a part that confused them, go back into your chat and describe exactly that problem. "Someone tried this and got stuck at [specific point], here's what they said [the feedback], can you fix it so that doesn't happen." Let the tool do the adjusting, the same way it built the first version. If they said it looked fine and didn't have much to add, don't take that as permission to stop here. Ask them one more specific question. "If you had to actually use this for something real, what would get in your way?" People are often kind on a first look and only surface the real friction when pushed slightly harder. If you haven't shown it to anyone yet, this is the week to do both, share it and act on what comes back, in whichever order the days allow. Weeks 1 through 4 were about starting: pick a tool, pick an idea, get something rough working, get it in front of one person. Week 5 is the first week that's actually about building based on evidence instead of your own guess. That's a different skill, and it's the one that separates a rough demo from something that holds up. What "done" looks like for week 5: One real change has been made to your build because of feedback you received, not because you decided to tinker with it yourself. Post the before and after in the community if you can, even briefly or reply to this email and share it with me. Seeing what changed and why is more useful to everyone watching than seeing the final polished thing. Weeks 6 through 8 are the longest stretch of the challenge, building the real first version properly. Budget your time accordingly. See you next week. |
