Hey Reader, If last week was about pushing through boredom, this week is about a different kind of stuck: the technical kind, where you ask for a fix and something else breaks, or you genuinely don't know how to describe what's wrong. Here are the four problems I hear about most at this stage, and what to actually do with each. "I fixed one thing and now something else is broken." This usually means the conversation's gotten long and the model lost track of the full picture. Don't keep patching inside the same thread, ask it to summarise what you've built so far. Start a fresh conversation, paste that output. A clean slate often fixes more than another round of patches. "I hit my free tier limit mid-session." Save whatever you've got, and don't treat this as a stopping point, treat it as a natural pause. Come back later that day or the next, paste your current version back in, and pick up exactly where you left off. This is precisely why the challenge is 90 days, not 90 minutes. A pause isn't a failure. "I know something's wrong but I can't explain what." This is the most common one, and the fix isn't technical, it's descriptive. Instead of "it's not working," try describing what you expected to happen versus what actually happened. "I clicked this and expected X, but Y happened instead." You don't need the right vocabulary, you need the specific before and after. "My idea's gotten a lot bigger than what I scoped in week 2." This is scope creep, and it's a good sign in one sense, it means you're seeing more possibility in the thing you're building. But for this challenge, go back to your week 2 sentence. What did "done" originally look like? Finish that version first. Everything else becomes a good idea for after day 90, not a reason to blow past your original scope now. What "done" looks like for week 7: Whatever was stuck last week has either moved forward or you've named clearly, in the community, what specifically isn't moving. Naming it counts as progress here. One more week of this stretch after this one. Week 9 is your first public share. If you get stuck, feel free to reach out to me by email and I will be happy to help. See you next week. |
