I want to tell you exactly what to expect this week, because knowing it's coming is half the defence against it.

The first five weeks had a shape to them.

1. New tool
2. New idea
3. First version
4. First feedback
5. First real change.

Something new happened every week, which made showing up easy.

This week doesn't have that.

Weeks 6 through 8 are just building. No new milestone, no fresh novelty, just you and the thing you're making, three weeks in a row.

This is exactly where most side projects quietly die.

Not because the idea was wrong. Not because the person wasn't capable.

Because the middle of anything is boring, and boring is much easier to walk away from than difficult.

You already know this pattern, actually. It's the same one I wrote about back in June, the quiet middle of a project at work, where nothing's on fire and that somehow feels worse than a crisis.

Same phase. Different project.

It hits your side build the same way it hits a client delivery.

Here's what separates people who get through it from people who don't. It's rarely more motivation. It's a lower bar for what counts as progress.

Don't aim for a finished feature this week. Aim for one small addition, one small fix, twenty minutes at your keyboard instead of two hours.

On the days you don't feel like opening the chat window, open it anyway and do the smallest possible thing. Ask your AI tool to add one tiny piece, or fix one tiny annoyance. That's a real session and it counts.

Consistency at a low bar beats intensity you can't sustain, especially over three weeks with nothing external pushing you.

What "done" looks like for week 6:

You opened your build at least twice this week and changed something, however small.

Post in the community if you're stuck, even just to say so. Someone else is almost certainly in the exact same week, feeling the exact same flatness.
